The Samsung AR18CYNAMWK split air conditioner is a top-of-the-line product with a unique design and many impressive features. Upon reviewing this product, it’s clear that Samsung has put a lot of thought and innovation into designing an AC unit that not only cools a room effectively but also enhances its aesthetics.

One of the standout features of this air conditioner is its WindFree cooling tech. It uses 23,000 micro air holes to evenly distribute cool air, avoiding uncomfortable drafts. It generates only 24dB of noise (vs. 26dB in conventional models), making it great for light sleepers and those who don’t like direct airflow.

Another notable feature of this split air conditioner is Freeze wash technology. The Freeze Wash feature freezes the surface of the heat exchanger and then melts the ice to clean the surface thoroughly. This not only cleans the unit but also prevents the growth of bacteria and molds that can lead to foul smells and health issues.

This AC also has 5 convertible cooling options, including Home Alone, Eco, Pleasant, Normal, and Party modes, with a power input range of 40% to 120%. This 5-step technology allows you to adjust the AC’s speed based on your cooling needs, leading to energy savings and lower electricity bills.

Overall, the Samsung AR18CYNAMWK Split Air Conditioner is a powerful and efficient cooling solution for those looking for a reliable and effective AC unit.

If you are looking for an air conditioner for a smaller room size (up to 110 sq. ft), LG RS-Q13JNYE is the perfect option you can look for. This AC has some great features, making it a standout product in the market.

The AI Convertible 6 in 1 Cooling feature automatically detects the room’s capacity and adjusts cooling accordingly, a great energy-saving feature. The Viraat Mode allows the AC to operate even at 110% capacity without any time limit, ensuring you get quick and efficient cooling. (Most AC compared have a time limit capped while running on maximum capacity.)

One of the best features of this AC is the Dual Inverter Compressor, which saves more energy and provides a higher speed cooling range than conventional compressors. The ADC Sensors (Ambient, Condenser, and Discharge Sensors) work together to provide optimal cooling and efficiency. This split AC also comes with Mute Function, which I have particularly liked as it eliminates the disturbing beep sound while operating the AC.

Overall, the LG RS-Q13JNYE is a smart, efficient, cost-effective air conditioner with impressive features. The manufacturer’s warranty of 10 Years on the Compressor with Gas Charging, 5 Years on PCB, and 1 Year on the Product makes it a reliable choice for anyone looking to buy a high-quality air conditioner.

The Panasonic CS/CU-SU18YKYWT is an advanced, energy-efficient AC with great features. It has a 1.5-ton cooling capacity and a 3-star energy rating, ideal for medium-sized rooms(121-180 sq. ft).

This AC stands out from others we have reviewed due to its features. One of them is the 7 in 1 convertible mode; while some ACs offer 4,5, or 6 convertible modes, this 2023 model offers 7-in-1 convertible mode. It lets you manually adjust up to 7 stages of cooling performance ranging from 40% to 90% and even to high capacity and full capacity.

What I liked the most about this AC is that it can customize sleep profiles through its app. I can schedule hourly temperature adjustments to avoid midnight chills and create different temperature profiles for weekdays and weekends. The MiAaie App provides one-touch service requests and allows users to monitor and manage e-warranties. You can also control this AC through Home Automation Systems.

One thing I didn’t like about this AC is it does not have a Horizontal swing, while most of the AC we have reviewed in this segment have that feature.

The Panasonic CS/CU-SU18YKYWT is a great choice for an energy-efficient, feature-rich AC in a medium-budget range. The lack of a horizontal swing feature might make this a bit less suited for some buyers. Nonetheless, I recommend this AC to anyone looking for an advanced, efficient air conditioner.

  • Backlit Remote

  • Smart AC

  • Most Feature Packed AC In this Price Segment

Best Split Air Conditioner in India: Buying Guide

If you are looking to purchase a split air conditioner in India, there are several factors you should consider before making a purchase. These factors will help you choose the right air conditioner that meets your needs and budget:

Room Size

The first factor to consider when buying a split AC is the size of the room where you want to install it. The size of the AC is directly proportional to the size of the room. You must choose an AC with the appropriate cooling capacity based on the room size.

Generally, a 1-ton split AC is suitable for a room size of up to 120 square feet, a 1.5-ton split AC is suitable for a room size of up to 180 square feet, while a 2-ton AC is suitable for a room size of more than 215 square feet.

Energy Efficiency

With the rising cost of electricity, it’s important to choose a split AC with high energy efficiency ratings. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) in India provides a star rating system, with higher star ratings indicating better energy efficiency.

You should choose an AC with at least a 3-star rating, preferably a 5-star one.

The compressor is the heart of an AC and is responsible for cooling the room. There are mainly two types of compressors: Inverter and non-inverter.

Inverter compressors are more energy-efficient and give better temperature control than non-inverter ACs. They’re also quieter and last longer, so if your usage is high (8+ hours a day), go for an inverter model. Otherwise, a non-inverter AC will do just fine.

The condenser is the outer unit of the AC and plays a vital role in heat transfer. Two types of condensers are commonly used – Aluminium and Copper.

Copper condensers are more durable and offer better heat transfer, while aluminum condensers are cheaper and are more prone to rust.

The noise level of an AC is a crucial point to consider, especially if you plan to install it in a bedroom or study room. Look for an AC with a noise level of 30-35 dB for a quieter operation.

The price of the AC is also an important factor to consider. In India, split acs generally come in a price range of ₹20,000 to ₹1,00,000. These prices vary according to the make and model of the ac and size. You can choose a split AC based on your budget and requirements.

You should also consider the features that AC offers. Some of the features that you may want to look for include the following:

This feature enables the AC to restart automatically after a power outage.

Sleep mode

This feature enables the AC to adjust the temperature automatically at night, ensuring a comfortable sleep.

This feature helps to remove excess moisture from the air, which is particularly useful in humid areas.

AC with Heat Pumps

This feature enables the AC to provide both cooling and heating. Heater AC will be a more budget-friendly option than a conventional room heater.

Air Purification

This feature helps to remove allergens from the air, making it ideal for homes with pets or smokers.

Auto Cleaning

This feature helps remove mold and dust automatically by blowing air for some time when the AC is turned off.

After-Sale Service and Warranty

When purchasing an air conditioner, you should consider the company’s after-sale service. This is especially relevant if you’re buying a Split AC.

Some Companies provide annual maintenance contracts (AMCs), including regular servicing and repairing of your air conditioner. Opting for the service might be a good choice if you don’t want to worry about your AC maintenance.

Warranty is another factor to consider when purchasing an air conditioner. Most ACs come with a one-year warranty, but some companies offer extended warranties of up to five years.

The installation process is the final aspect to take into account. If you’re purchasing a Split AC, examining the manufacturer’s post-sale assistance is essential. This is due to the fact that installing Split ACs is more intricate and necessitates more technical expertise. Most negative reviews on Amazon are related to poor installation, which is a significant concern for customers.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How does a split air conditioner work?

A split air conditioner pulls hot air from the room through the indoor unit. The hot air is then passed over a refrigerant coil that cools the air. The cool air is then blown back into the room. Meanwhile, the outdoor unit removes the heat from the refrigerant and dissipates it outside.

How often should I clean the filters in my split AC?

The filters in a split AC should be cleaned once every two weeks to ensure optimum performance. If the AC is used frequently or in a dusty environment, the filters may need to be cleaned more often.

Can a split air conditioner be used for heating as well?

Yes, many split air conditioners have a reverse cycle function that allows them to provide heating and cooling. This can be more energy-efficient than a separate heating system, particularly in mild climates. If you are looking for a Hot and Cold split AC, consider buying the LG PS-H19VNXF.

Can a split air conditioner be used in large spaces?

The cooling capacity of a split air conditioner depends on the size and model. 1.5 to 2 tons ACs are suitable for medium to larger spaces, while AC with less than 1.5 tons is better for smaller rooms. Choosing the right size and model for your space is important to ensure optimal cooling efficiency.

What are the advantages of a spit air conditioner?

Spit air conditioners are typically more powerful and can cool larger areas than window air conditioning systems. They also tend to be more energy-efficient and can be less expensive to operate in the long term.

How often do I need to service my spit air conditioner?

It is recommended to have your spit air conditioner serviced at least once a year, preferably before the start of the cooling season. This will help ensure that the unit operates at peak efficiency and reduce the risk of breakdowns.

Can I install a split air conditioner myself?

Installing a split air conditioner yourself is not recommended, as it requires specialized knowledge and equipment. It is recommended to hire a professional technician to install the unit. Some companies may also void the appliance warranty if a certified technician does not install it.

Why does an AC with a higher star rating cost more?

ACs with a higher star rating cost more because they are designed to be more energy-efficient than ACs with lower star ratings. They use advanced technology and components that consume less electricity to provide the same cooling effect, resulting in lower electricity bills over time.
